NBD: Fender Classic '70s Jazz

Nice find mang. My biggest gripe with MIM Fenders are the unfinished necks and headstocks that make the bass look like a cheap tarted up whore. Looks like they went the extra mile on these. Very,..MIJ/CIJ.

I think its weird how everybody here who buys MIM says their MIM is "as good as MIA". Or their Squier is "as good as MIM".

Isnt it more likely that MIA is the best of the three and people are just happy with their purchase and want to strut and crow about their new bass a lil bit. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but come on now.

This is coming from a guy who plays a Squier and likes it but knows it isnt as good as MIM and MIM isnt as good as MIA and doesnt like MIJ bc of the glossy nex.

I used to have the real thing form the 70's about 20 years ago. and when the MIM re-issue came out I bought one without any expectations. After setting it up to my taste, and getting the strings that I like, I am totally in love with this thing.
It's a lot lighter than my original one, and it feels different for sure.But it has a very nice feel to it. I considered upgrading the PU's, but the truth is that it sounds great as it is.
I took my bass to two different Guitar Center's to compare with the other fancier fender's, and I can say that I am very happy with mine.
If I could just have a Geddy Lee Neck on a Deluxe Jazz bass active...

I've owned real 70s Fenders and 3 different USA 75 RIs. I think the MIM version I bought sounded and played better than all of them, so no.

Actually, MIM necks are finished, they're just not finished with Poly like the japanese fenders. They've all been finished in satin.

I have the 3TS one and i was thinking of keeping the black pickguard on it and putting all black hardware on it aswell so black tuning machines and a black bridge. However i dont really need to do that so it would be draining the funds.
Should i put a better bridge on mine or keep the stock?

In my experience, my stock bridge kinda rattled and didn't seem to be the best quality. So I swapped it for an old BadAss II bridge and haven't looked back. I'd suggest doing something similar.

I cannont find a BadAss II bridge anywhere in Ireland.
I was thinking of getting a Schaller 2000 4S black bridge but i hadnt had any experience with that kind of bridge before so i dont know if its good or not

Really, I think anything is a step-up compared to the stock bridges. I think the only good stock bridges are on MIA's but that's just my view.

It's hard to capture its "epicness" with a camera. They are beautiful instruments in person.

Not really, depends on the delivery service.

I couldn't tell you for a bridge alone though, as I usually get a bunch of things at once.

Bull. I don't say my bass is "as good as an MIA" because I'm cocky. I say it because it's true. I have played horrible MIA's and high quality Squiers. To say one is better than the other based solely on the brand name or place it's made is absolutely ridiculous. Each bass is it's own animal. Not every fender is better than every squier. Not every gibson is better than ever ephone and to say otherwise is closemindedness.

Personally, my Squier Precision is better than every MIM and every MIA I've ever played. I'm not saying that to try and make my bass look good, I say it because I believe it to be 100% true.
