This followed me home from work (The House of Guitars) a brand new black and maple Fender Player Precision. I'd been checking it out over the past few weeks and it eventually convinced me to bring it home. Super light, excellent build quality it was just to good to pass up. A quick set up and it plays as good as any bass I own. It will look great next to my '74 black and maple ;)
The Player series gets a big thumbs up from me, video to come!

Nice! They are great basses.

On my Player, I personally put a vintage bridge, PV63 pickups, Emerson pot kit and the usual vintage style knobs. Made it even nicer, but not necessary.
I plan on putting a Pure Vintage '63 pickup in it. Not that it really needs it.

The stock pickups on the Player models (guitars and basses) are actually really good and I think people seriously underrate them. I have one exact oh like it and it sounds better than my main white Player P which has PV63S (I might even swap!)

I agree. The stock P pickups sound really good. I I went through a couple different pickups in mine and ended up going back to the stock because it just sounded better than the others.
