NBD/ First Post Fender FSR P Bass

Hello everyone, I have been a viewer of TalkBass for quite some time, but this is my first post.

Today at my local music shop, I found this wonderful looking Fender. It is a Factory Special Run(FSR), meaning only a few were made. I believe only 75 were made with this wine red finish. It sounds much better than my other bass (an Ibanez GSR 200). It has an ash body making it rather light. Its probably one of the coolest things I own.

Those basses are dead sexy. Congratulations. So far, I think these finishes are some of my favorite that Fender has done. From what I remember, they were done in a limited run in 2012. I kick myself a bit because I played one in a store that I like quite a bit, but I had recently purchased a bass and could not justify picking up another. So that's the one that got away.

Enjoy man!

FSR's are "special" runs in that they are a finish for a specific retailer (Sweet Water, Guitar Center, etc.), not usually anything like a 75 unit only run.

Nevertheless, who gives a poop. That's a gorgeous bass, and doesn't look anything like all the rest (I know this stuff - my Peavey Fury is a stunning tort on black and I just don't care if it's "common"). :p
