NBD: Fretless Content

Extremely nice choices on your CS order, and a stunner of a end result! I'm not much of a Warwick fan, but I've always wanted a Spector in the same color & hardware choices (Black hardware on a White bass - I'd go "Link Removed" or Olympic White as opposed to Hi-Gloss/"Nuclear" White but that's what opinions are for :smug: ) and the lined Ebony 'board tops it of nicely! :D

One question, as I come from the Jazz or P/J School of Fretless Bass pickup combinations - how does the double-humbucker setup sound on a fretless bass? My initial thought is that it might be a touch too "overpowering", but I'm very interested in hearing the opinion of an owner.

I don't think it's that overpowering at all. It "can" be, if you're running both of the pickups full-bore (and I prefer that sound when recording, it seems to bring out the low end a bit more), but I normally have the neck at single coil and the bridge in parallel. Gives it a nice character to it, and I actually think brings in more clarity than a regular JJ setup provides.
