New to me.

I just picked up this bass from a well-known gentleman in the bass teaching and performing world. Just a hair over 8 lb and currently sporting a well broken in pair of DR Legends. I have not performed with it yet but I have been playing it since I received it. It was everything I was hoping! I now have all of Leo's takes on a precision bass.

That finish has been discontinued for two years now. Maybe you get lucky and find a used one.

I really like DR Legends. I bet they sound fantastic on that L-1000, if the flats tone is what you’re after.

My avatar has the same bass! But your neck and headstock have much prettier grain than mine. That said, I swoon over these basses. I took this picture in the sunlight a few weeks ago at a show. Love that finish!!

I found one on Reverb months ago, but adding delivery, customs duties and the anxiety for a package loss or damage was way too much for me…

I've had one, but they're just split coil clones. Also had an EBMM Cutlass.

I played one of these today in the same colour (used) in a guitar shop here in Melbourne, Australia. The sound of the pickup compared to my American Special has lot more character, tonal variation, and bottom end in OMG mode. The shop said there is a fair amount of interest so I better get moving and maybe trade the P Bass. G&L are almost impossible to buy here as there is no importer.

The neck was a little chunkier than my Flea Roadworn Jazz, but not enough to be a problem.

Anyone in TB land have any comments on the neck?

Those are fantastic instruments, with freakishly high output and satisfying grunt. IMHO the L2K was Leo's greatest hit, and the L1K provides the best of it.
