I ordered this BTO LB-100 from my local dealer in June of 2021. Received it in February of 2022 but, like my 2017 BTO and 2020 CS, it weren't just exactly right the first time around. Memo knows me by first name. I won't get into it here. New Bass Day.

Butterscotch blonde over swamp ash
Quartersawn neck, vintage gloss tint
7.5" radius with 1.75" nut
Single-ply black guard
Vintage frets
Model logo delete

Neck pocket is nice and tight. Edge rolling is ok. Apparently there's a shortage of 250k pots so I got one solid shaft and one split shaft with a collar . Memo said he'd mail me another solid. @danalogue will be setting it up with Jamersons. Stoked.

Is that really a Vintage Tint Gloss neck? It looks like Clear Gloss – not even like Light Tint Gloss.

I agree, it's lighter than I'd like. The bass was originally delivered with a light tint satin finish neck :vomit: and that was one of the main reasons I sent it back. At that point there should have been no further questions about the specs. But, you know. My experience with G&L has taught me that when you spec a new bass you're merely providing suggestions about how you'd like it to turn out .

I think it's possible the neck looks lighter alongside the butterscotch blonde finish, but the other LBs are both vintage gloss and the necks seem objectively darker by comparison. On the other, other hand the 2017 is five years old now and the CS is nitro, so I don't know what kind of natural aging has taken place, either. I'll have to play it outside or something. It's not going back again unless the neck ski-jumps.
