Can I ask how long it took to get your order?

I ordered an SB2 7 weeks ago and just today ordered a fretless LB100, getting antsy!!

I've ordered a few over the years and it's usually 10 - 12 weeks.

I ordered an sb-2 late March that I received in early may. I ordered an L2000 the first week of march and I am still waiting.

Beautiful! I've been wanting one (not an SB-2) and want to drop an MFD humbucker right behind the P pickup.

I purchased a new MIA Fender P back in '82, and I quit playing in when I got my first 5-string about a decade later. I didn't realize how much I'd miss a P bass, but I found a 1988 SB-1 and have never looked back. Comparing the two, the G&L is way ahead of the Fender in tone, playability, workmanship, etc. I still have mine, and it is not nor will ever be for sale.

Hey wolffire,

That's a great looking bass. Amazing, but I have one that looks just like it (but no switch). I ordered it when I first heard that G&L was "re-releasing" the SB-1 as a special order, maybe 2 years ago. Mine is redburst over a swamp ash body, with a black pickguard and maple #8 neck. I didn't order the extra birdseye maple fretboard, but there is stunning grain and birdeye in the board I got. I've posted pics previously here on TB. The quality, fit and finish are awesome. Congratulations on your new bass.

SB has hotter passive pickups, slightly more classic sound. L2000 active pickups, more variety sounds, modern sounding and gives you more options.
