NBD: Glasstone GSJ-5M type bass

Brad you got me gassing for one of those cabs man and I'm going to get one. I think in blue. I have been communicating with the Rev. it's just a matter of time. Looks like I'm on the Glasstone Bandwagon. what's that Glasstone JB sound like? I am a JB player from way back.

Hey man, you'll love the Glasstone! I'm getting ready to add the 15" sub (no horn) to my church rig.

Cool. Now to figure out how to pull this off when I just bought a PUMA 500 and the Brute SC-5. I may have to hide it in a closet for a couple of weeks from the Mrs. :-)

i have been married for 27 years and she's my biggest fan and worst critic. I hate learning new songs around her. If she hears a mistake or something not quite right all I hear from her is I know that's not you. what's wrong with you? I never heard you play that bad :-) She also likes the sound of Brubakers. I got to get me one of those Glasstone Lil G's. The G stands for GASSING!!!!!!!!!

Aggressive. Like the cabs, he's experimented with basses until he came up with basses that really stand out. Preach has an Ash with Mahogany neck. Killer 70's J vibe. Mine has a Mahogany body and Wenge neck and board. Killer J with a hint of the compressed Smith vibe when I slap. You give Glass an idea of the vibe you're after and he can make a woods recommendation. Preach and I both have Tesla dual coils, I have an East U-Retro and Preach has a Pope Flexcore preamp. The Teslas were a nice surprise... sounded better to both of us than the NY Duncans, the new Lane Poors and the Sadowskys that Glass was using. Fat, clear, aggressive and quiet.

Preach has some recordings, I'll see if I can get one to you.

Cool. I sent Preach an email asking about his opinion of his Glasstones. I sent it to the contact email for his group. It's just a matter of time for me. And I love instruments and gear that provide that aggressive tone. Man I should move to the MD/DC area. Seems like that's where the haps are. Philly/Delaware seems cold or disinterested. I guess that's why all the really heavy Philly Bass Players moved out of Philly :-)

I was with Preach and Sammie most of the day today. I've been dogging Preach about how much nicer my Glasstone is than his (rightfully so IMO... and his was very nice ;)) so he had his pickups swapped out last week for the same Teslas I have. Today he got Sammie to install one of the new East SP-2 preamps (IIRC I have the SP-1) and that thing is sweet. It has adjustable centers in the control cavity for bass, mids and treble. With the Tesla dual coils with coil tap it nails a vicious 70's Jazz vibe.

Brad holler at Preach to read and reply to his email :-) I'm thinking about the Bag End Red Lil G to go with my Merlot Brute SC -5.

Hey guys. I tried to check the clip out on youtube and it was pulled? I want to hear a Lil G. Will it be reposted?
