NBD-Harley Benton PB-20 Satin Black

That is the most beautiful bass I've seen. I also have had a few HB's and think they are great quality and tone, esp for the price. Just checked, this matte black beauty is out of stock for 8 weeks.....gaaahhhhhhh.
Yeah I wanna buy one too as soon as it is available in Thomann.I suppose this satin black finish will be one of HB most popular and sold basses.Beautiful, beautiful bass.It worth the price only for the look.Later always can put some Seymour Duncan Quarter pound and have a killer P bass.

I was finally able to place an order for one of these. Now just have to wait about 2 months until it's available . First thing (as always) will be to upgrade strings. This does make a big difference, specially on basses strung with cheap strings. Then if I still find it lacking, I'd go for Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder. That should be enough to make this beauty sound equally beautiful :bassist:

Yes, mine had more output with daddario’s. New setup of the pickup height needed;) Good P like sound. Ceramics. Might benefit of pickups with a bit more mid growl? Or whatever aan alnico will do :)

Hope you are not in a hurry for the new look replacement.

I periodically send him scratch plates to increase his product line. I was certain I'd sent the PB-20 plates last year.
Will be sending him some more Peavey plates so I'll make certain to include a PB-20 plate.

Pickguard for various Harley Benton bass models: many pickup and colour options | eBay

Thanks for link, much appreciated. He doesn't have PB-20 listed as you mentioned, but I will drop him a message via ebay... perhaps he forgot to update his list or something.

Thinking Phil Lynott style, mirrored pickguard.

Cheers

Great video, thanks for sharing. I have installed a mirror pickguard on mine, put chrome knurled knobs on and I have a Fender high mass bridge (Badass II replica) to install.... Will post some photos once i've installed the bridge. As you can probably it's a Phil Lynott inspired project.

So far I kept the original pickups, however I did measure their resistance when I replaced the pickguard and wiring loom and they measured 7.3kOhm, so they are wound very hot, just thought that might be useful info to share for someone.

I've still got a stock bass too, I bought one from eBay with no pickups which is the one in the video for £60. The stock one is not bad at all. The pickups in it aren't the worst in the world, obviously not as powerful output as the SPB3 pickups but they sound good for recording. It's also noticeably lighter which is probably down to the extra winding on the pickups and the Gotoh bridge. For the money, you just cannot go wrong with these basses.
