I've had mine for almost 2 months played everyday, I just changed the battery a few days ago- as I noticed the sound was slowly starting to get a little bit distorted so I changed the battery.
2 batteries in 2 months is a little too soon. Wondering if there's a short or something that constantly drains the battery usage on yours even though nothing's in the input.
Could be the input jack is constantly "on"? If so, an easy fix would be to replace the jack.
I will track to see how long this new battery lasts on mine.

Tony is awesome. he's done a few pickguards and custom pickup surround rings for me in the past. NEVER have had a problem with his work.

I did a touch up setup on my TMB100 trying to get "Pumped" enough to pick up this bass and play the poo out of it. It sounds Great. It plays GREAT. It looks GREAT. And now I am Obsessed with my Passives, again. :rollno: I think I am putting my TMB100 up on the Classifieds tomorrow. It bums me out because it IS NOT because I don't like it. For the $$$, this is a REMARKABLE Bass. I Honestly REALLY Love it. But, I haven't TOUCHED it since the 3rd day I owned it. I think I will always pick up a Passive Bass because the inner child in my brain tells me to. :confused:

If you love it otherwise, it's really not a very major mod to remove the active preamp and run it as a passive bass.

Ya... I thought about that. I have a set of Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders for the P and J slots sitting here waiting to be put in it. It is just not the bass my Brain tells me I want for some reason. I have been playing the Poo out of my Schecter Model T for a couple weeks. Everything else feels wrong.

lol....I would do that myself every now and then - I bought and used about 10 all-passive basses last year then just recently got back into active basses so I sold or traded all my passive basses. Out of 14 basses, only one is passive now. Maybe it'll dawn on me to have 7 passive basses and 7 active and keep it at that but that wouldn't work for my GAS tendencies.

EDIT: Correction, I have 1 pure passive bass, and 2 Hohner basses that are active/passive (via switch or just play them without batteries and it'll default to passive)

You obviously need more basses! If you have 14, that's well on your way to having 30, one for each day of the month.

Interestingly, as a very novice bass guy, my first bass (acquired just this past Dec) is an active (Ibanez SR400) and I really like it. Not knowing anything much about basses when I bought it, I simply picked it because of the feel of the bass. I swapped out the PUs for DiMarzios and really like its sound.

Just recently I acquired my 2nd bass (Yammie RBX 170EW) and my first passive. I have been quite surprised by how much I love its sound. I've been comparing the two basses, having strung them with the same strings for now, and find I like a lot about both of them.

lol!! I have 14 basses, but had over 80 basses in the past 3 years. (talk about rotating my basses). No harm, no foul- no money used, just trading or reselling. I was reluctant to sell my Yamaha RBX170EW, it was the one passive I really liked but couldn't pass up a Schecter Elite straight trade.
The TMB100, is a keeper, it's my beater bass (I've kept it in great condition except for that ding on it that made it a scratch and dent special for $127). Besides, given the price of it brand new, I don't think it's going to fetch much used anyway. :) Great bass for the money though so I'm definitely keeping it.

This is exactly why I was so quick to order one. It's $200. I won't be able to sell it for much but it's not like I had to put a 2nd mortgage on my house to get it. Unless it's broken into pieces, I'm thinking it will be well worth $200. It's a pretty risk free experiment. I'm still amazed that you can buy this bass for that amount. I don't expect it to be a Lakland but it's a solid, completely gigable bass.

Absolutely perfect beater bass- my Squier Jag served that purpose- the Talman TMB is really quite an upgrade for the same price. Great tonal range so I don't find myself reaching for my other basses to get that right kind of sound because this thing can pretty much sound exactly like I want it to. Worth way more than the price it sells for.

I'll tell you what.... And NOT just because I am trying to sell it.... I walked into my Local Mom and Pop Music Shop that had the Trans Red, Sunburst, Mint, and Ivory in stock. I honestly HATED the looks of the Trans Red on the interweb, so I was expecting to walk out with a Sunburst or Mint. The Ivory turned ME OFF(Personally, NO OFFENSE) immediately upon seeing it. I played it, nonetheless. The mint and sunburst were in the running, BUT, I could not BELIEVE how GOOD the Trans Red looked in person. It shows a TON of grain in the body and was the Best of the bunch, that I got to touch, anyway. I don't think Pictures of these basses do them much Justice (personally) because the ones I expected to LOVE looked Gross, and the ones I HATED from the Pics looked AMAZING in person. Just my 2 cents... :thumbsup:
