I would up not liking the tone no matter what I did. It's a beautiful but weird bass. I sold it.

I just thought that the pickup was weird and I didn’t like the tone. The concept of the bass is amazing but I found in practice, mind you trying about three or four different kinds of strings, I just didn’t like it. It sounded good with dead Labella’s, but what doesn’t? I just didn’t find that it was better than a precision bass in anyway whatsoever. I disliked the tone enough to not be able to keep it, even though it was beautiful. The Precision is king.
