Yes, the knobs don't inspire confidence, but apart from that the build quality and finish are awesome. And the sound!

Sorry the pics aren't so great ... too busy playing it to take better ones. If you haven't tried one yet, you really should. You might be surprised.

Does it sound "hollow body"? (I've never seen one here to try). It must be nice and light too.

Not so light, and yes, it is neck heavy, but not as bad as, say, an EB-3L. But I don't really care because I love the sound(s).

It's got a great hollow body sound, but the selector switch gives you a load of other single coil and humbucker combos. Bassy Motown stuff to boosted mid tones that sound really punky (proper '70s punk). Great finger-style over the neck pickup to hard plectrum over the bridge twang. Sorry to sound like a sales brochure, but it really does cover all of my bases so far (it's only been a couple of hours and I'm still infatuated, sorry)

It's a very well built bass (and I've had a few). It's my first Chinese bass, and all I can say is that they can make basses as well as iPhones and iPads if they want to, or if someone's checking the QC.

The knobs all look fine, but feel a little flimsy, and a few needed a bit of a nudge to sit square. No different to a '70s or '80s Gibbo in my limited experience. The selector knob will probably be replaced with one of the small Vox knobs, and if I can find some of the Gretch-a-like knobs they use on the guitars, I may replace all the volume and tones.

And the colour? I've got to find out what they call it. Bet it's Arctic White or something. Looks great offset against the slightly cream binding.

I actually think it's too classy for me ...

[Edit] And I forgot to mention the binding goes all mother-of-pearly around the headstock. Just where those hot looking tuners are, the binding gets ... even hotter!

You see, I like to be polite and reply to everyone, but I don't actually know what you mean, sorry.

I'm sure it's not an insult, and of course I've heard of Carvin, but they were never big in the UK when I was there, and now I haven't been there for years, I'm afraid you've lost me completely
