NBD knackered old SB-1

Cool Bass!! And, THANK YOU for Basschat… I love that place!! Thanks for bringing that to the world!! I do believe that Basschat preceded Talkbass so, we are imitations of the original?

Sincerest form of flattery!!

Thanks! TB was actually the inspiration for BC. When I started out playing there wasn’t anything UK based so I used TB a lot but was frustrated that I couldn’t buy anything and nobody knew what certain swear words I’m not allowed to post meant.

Ped, I've got one just like it so I can honestly say congratulations. Mine is an '88 and had belonged to a touring musician and shows it age and miles. But with TI Flats, look out.... :) They'll put meat on the table. Enjoy that old work horse...… Lee

Cheers, I’ve got Cobalt flats on this in the lightest gauge which match the size If the Elixirs I put on my other basses. I think the tension is about the same as the TIs I used to use. I haven’t used flats for a while but they just suit a P bass down to the ground.

nice! tell me, is the black sort of blueish? my sb2 from around 84 can't decide whether its blue or black in spots. i can't tell whats going on

Rather pleased with this one. It’s cleaned up really nicely and sounds great. Love the tilt neck, I’ve been able to get the action spot on. The neck is straight as an arrow. Some pics:
