Rather pleased with this one. It’s cleaned up really nicely and sounds great. Love the tilt neck, I’ve been able to get the action spot on. The neck is straight as an arrow. Some pics:

Haha thanks! I couldn’t find one in the UK so ended up importing this from Chicago! Still worked out cheaper than the ones I could find here.

  7. The great thing about bass guitars (w/o vibrato bridges) is that they never really wear out. You'd have to do some serious damage to make it unplayable or less of a pleasure to play.
I mention vibrato bridges, because on guitars those are a clear failure point.

I hope you've noticed there is only three tuning pegs right and that there's a racoon on the head stock. Other than that, it looks great.

Maybe why it was cheap! I can’t tune it because the raccoon bites me

Little raccoons like that are harmless. If their mother is nearby, though.....

Nice one. I have it's SB-2 cousin, same vintage and blackitude. It's been a great bass. The micro -tilt is handy indeed, if used in moderation.

Little raccoons are extra options you can specify on the G&L order page. Mother raccoon is about $100 more last time I looked.

    Kidding -
Congrats OP, that's a nice bass.

I will admit, I went back to look for a pup. I didn't see one. Then I thought, perhaps you meant "pickup?" And then I noticed the pole under the E string is taped over. Why is that? To deaden the sound? It's already got flats on it, does it not?
