NBD: Maruszczyk Elwood Fretless

I love this bass it's Soooooooo much nicer that any Joco copy short of possibly a Custom Shop. Everything about it screams quality unlike its F doppelgänger.
I just mentioned this in another thread but you use a White Out Pen for side dots or lines. It will last well but come off by just scraping with a fingernail. Completely reversible, no harm, no foul.

Yes, I use a white pen to highlight the black sidelines, they come of very easily if I want. The side dots are permanent.

Now, I thought that it was time to buy a new toy for me and I don't regret it a little bit. It plays wonderfully, I love the sound, the way it fits when I play it, I can't really explain it, but it just feels right, it's awesome!

It just seems that I need to do no effort to play it, it has lots of ressonance, I can feel every note in my body. Maybe it's because it's new and I am in the honeymoon fase, but I have never felt something like this with the other basses I've played.

Maruszczyk Elwood Fretless 4 strings.

Alder body, Ash on top and bottom, 3 tone sunburst, nitro finish.

Birdseye maple, tinted vintage neck, nitro finish.

34'', 21 "frets", 38mm, 12º radius Rosewood fingerboard with black lines and side dots.

Nordstrand Big J Blades Warm and Wooly pickups.

Standard bridge 19mm spacing, hipshot ultralight 1/2 tuners, passive VVT knobs, Schaller security locks, all black.

Wow, looks great - the wood figure and the burst are a good combo, here; seems as if it's in flames, cool!

How are you liking the bass? Do you have any sound demos up? I love the black lines on the fretboard it's a great idea to have them but not have them destroying the nice clean look of an unlined fretless.

The Jockomo inlay stickers 1/8" mini dot stickers also work really well as removable side dots for basses that don't have them.

I congratulate you on your purchase. It is truly a beautiful bass. If it sounds as good as it looks, you have a true winner. Also, welcome to the world of fretlessing. They are truly expressive and a joy to play. I wish you well in your new journey. Now go play it!;)
