Figured I’d post this in my OG NBD thread— got my old Nate Mendel back in trade today. Forgot how much I loved this thing.. also forgot I’d upgraded the tuning keys to Hipshots, lol. Gonna keep the stock Duncans in it for now. I’m in P heaven over here!!!

I just snagged another set of DiMarzios here— I might put em in the Mendel! I’m kinda digging the SPB-3s though..

Part of me wants to try out some stock wound Lollar P’s .. I’ve read that’s the secret sauce right there!

I came so close to ordering one went to my music store ....the had a slightly 2017 Pro P in Antique Olive that just got traded in ....I bought that instead .....those NM,s are great value congrats...Great looking Bass

Yeah the truss rod access is at the heel

I sold my NM recently, but I used a router to make a small access point to adjust the truss rod without removing the neck and it worked perfectly. I've done this on a couple of Fender basses. Sorry I don't have a better pic but hopefully you can get the idea if you zoom in on this one

From memory I think it was both. I only routed the minimum amount needed to get a StewMac Truss Rod Crank in there
