I can’t seem to leave the Palaedium alone. I messed up my tone potand need to replace it, and had found a few Palaedium bass videos on Youtube by Dave Turner.(He’s fantastic). One of the videos outlined his endorsement of the Tone Monster PTE ,a varitone type control for replacing the tone pot.
When i found out the company makes a MV/Panpot/varitone wiring harness which he had installed (and demonstrated) on his Palaedium, I decided to give that a try.
It should be here next week, and then hopefully I will get all the new stuff installed sometime over Labor Day weekend.
About thatWhat a fun thread this has been to read! I'm glad you find my videos useful. I hope the Tone Monster PTE is still working well for you. I've acquired a Euro/Czech Dean JB in the meantime, and boy, I love both of these basses so much, I'll never part with them. Enjoy yours!
About that….I sold mine. I did enjoy your videos demoing the Peavey and the Tone Monster,
but ultimately the neck and my left hand didn’t get along.
I'm pretty sure the Palaedium was discontinued before Babicz even existed as a company (founded 2003).Old thread but new question! Was the Palaedium ever produced with a Babitcz bridge?
That's interesting. I just picked up a 90s Palaedium in Raspberry (very rare or fake color?) with a Babicz bridge. Seller said it was used as a demo for Babicz bridges. Was this made for Babicz or was the Quan bridge replaced or is this a fake or is was a Palaedium neck put on a different body with a Raspberry finish and Babicz bridge?I'm pretty sure the Palaedium was discontinued before Babicz even existed as a company (founded 2003).
There is an example of this color on page 3 of this thread, so I'd say the most likely scenario is that the bridge was replaced. That's interesting. Palaediums were long gone by then, model was dropped in 1994.I'm pretty sure the Palaedium was discontinued before Babicz even existed as a company (founded 2003).
EDIT: And the FCH bridge wasn't around until 2008 according to the Babicz website.
