Was chasing this one for a decade, finally twisted my buddy's arm hard enough

1981 USA Wave, one of the first made, marked proto in the pickup cavity , had no idea when I bought it but it's a 32" scale where as almost every other BCR is 34" and most Bich basses are 30.5"

Koa wings, maple neck

These things are unobtanium, there's a total of 18 Wave basses from the golden era of BCR (1981 when the Wave was introduced until 1985) documented in the serial archives. Sure to be more out there but not many

All koa = 1981

Koa & Maple = 1981

White = 1984

It's passive w a active booster, Vatitone , coil taps , phase switch etcetera

Super cool. I remember when the BC Rich basses were all the rage back in the early 80s, but I don't remember the Wave. Congratulations on your find!

I had a custom made Bich I bought in 1982 sold it for double what I paid for it. I regret selling it to this day Congrats enjoy.

Beautiful Wave(s).. Every BCR from that era I’ve ever owned I regret selling. 1981 Mock shorthorn.. 1983 Mock longhorn.. then.. proto 1995 Innovator, Stealth.. Snakeskin graphic STIII..
