NBD Schecter Model T Session Four

After much deliberation and a very particular budget, I decided on this Model T Session. I've gotta say, thus far, I'm really quite impressed.

The bass arrived nicely setup with medium/high action. After giving it the once over (no finish issues at all) and checking everything, I started tweaking it to my liking.

So, in the end, the neck needed about 1/8 of a turn to be pretty much flat. I've lowered the saddles to my liking as well: 4/64" on the E and 3/64" on the G at the 12th Fret with absolutely no issues. No buzzes. No dead spots. I'll install strings that I like in a few days. I certainly don't want to move too quickly!! Lol. I'll leave the film on the pickguard for a week or so too.

The preamp and pickups sound fantastic. This is my first foray into EMG territory. Dead quiet and a very nicely defined tone. More on all of this later as I still need to check out and adjust the dip switches for the treble control. Vintagey vibe with modern appointments. So far, I'm very pleased.

I would love it if Schecter would bring back the passive model though. But it looks like you have a very nice bass there Sir! Play on! :)

Glad you're liking it :)
It'll get even better once you have the strings you like on it.

Let us know what you think about the various settings using the dip switches, if you play with them. I was going to experiment with mine but after I saw what they do, I thought I already had them in the position I'd choose. But I should try a little.

The black hardware and especially that pickguard make it look nicer than quite a few similar basses which I won't name.
If it sounds as good as it looks (you are going to put black tapewounds on it, right?) it should be a keeper.

I have five basses, three with flats and two with black tapewounds...D'Addario and GHS.
The GHS strings are even better than the old Fender 9050 CL flatwounds
I've had them on my G&L L2000 for the past year and I still can't get over how good they sound.
Feel a little better than flats, too.
GHS stopped making them over a year ago and it took me until last month just to find another set from Prussia Valley Dulcimer, of all places...last set they had.
Started a thread about them and how hard they were to locate and was told the strings are now being reissued...go figure!

Very nice! Congratulations! I've been eyeballing the 5 string version of your Schecter as a backup to my Fender Precision V, but those seem kinda hard to come by.

There's a 2001 Schecter Diamond Series Model T 5 string, Black w/ White Pickguard that resembles the Deleo signature model listed here on TB I seen a few days ago. I'd have snatched it up myself if I could justify another 5.

Did you know about the Schecter Michael Anthony Sig ? it's a dolled up Model-T w binding. Jazz style thin neck and loaded with a set of MonsterTone Pickups that are,IMO, the best Passive pickups on the market. I have 2 of them(pictured on the left) and they are awesome. I also have 4 of the old Model-T's and the the SD Hot P/J set's that came in them were not to my liking at all and were replaced very quickly. YEMV
