Thanks, I really like them all, as you can probably tell I'm a bit obsessed. I got the dUg (pictured in the back) new 2 years ago and opened my eyes to Schecter. Purchased a new MA 6 months later and have been buying used ones when I can find them cheap. I really feel Blessed. Amazing craftsmanship for the $$, for certain.

Nice acquisition! I've been GASing for one of these for a few years. I'd like to play one before committing, though. Anxious to hear what it sounds like.

If you play a new one, many people are let down with the Tone because the stock strings sound dead and lifeless until they put a set of their favorite strings on them then are amazed. Just a heads up. Many people have reported this to Schecter, including myself. I told them they would sell a lot more Basses out of showrooms if they would just put good strings on them.

Out of the box, the strings aren't too bad. Am I going to change them? Yes. Definitely. I have a new set ready to go. The brand that Schecter use (Ernie Ball) sound good when they are fresh, but horrible when they get old. I totally agree. Not at all a good thing for an instrument on the showroom floor.

Both of the New Schecters I purchased a year and a half and 2 years ago came out of the box sounding terrible. I was excited to try the MonsterTone Pickups in the MA and was Mad for about 5 minutes until I remembered the stock strings. Put a set of Hi-Beams on it and it sounded a 100% better, thank God. I don't even think they put Slinkys on them. I'm not sure what they are but, you're going to be amazes at the difference once you put new strings on it.

I woke up this morning and played my new bass (I have not done this in years!).... The film has been removed from the pickguard. This bass is definitely staying here.

New strings are getting put on tomorrow.

After much deliberation and a very particular budget, I decided on this Model T Session. I've gotta say, thus far, I'm really quite impressed.

The bass arrived nicely setup with medium/high action. After giving it the once over (no finish issues at all) and checking everything, I started tweaking it to my liking.

So, in the end, the neck needed about 1/8 of a turn to be pretty much flat. I've lowered the saddles to my liking as well: 4/64" on the E and 3/64" on the G at the 12th Fret with absolutely no issues. No buzzes. No dead spots. I'll install strings that I like in a few days. I certainly don't want to move too quickly!! Lol. I'll leave the film on the pickguard for a week or so too.

The preamp and pickups sound fantastic. This is my first foray into EMG territory. Dead quiet and a very nicely defined tone. More on all of this later as I still need to check out and adjust the dip switches for the treble control. Vintagey vibe with modern appointments. So far, I'm very pleased.

Thanks!! Whoever chose the two pieces of swamp ash and lined them up for this body did an outstanding job. I love the grain patterns.

Not that I know of, and if they did it'd probably cost twice as much as the Schecter. Sometimes it's really hard being a Fender fan boy...

Trust me, I have owned and sold my fair share of Fender Basses.

I really like Schecter, but I stick to their original offerings like the Stiletto and CV, which are also really great. Schecters are just really great instruments and don't get half as much love as they deserve.

Keep it up and I'll just break-down and order on after all. I've been fighting the urge for almost 2 years. The only reason I haven't ordered one is because of the wide P style neck. 6 of the 7 Schecters I own have the thin Jazz style necks on them. The one Model-T I have that has the wide neck on it has been getting a lot of love this past week. It was very lonely but, because I had Carpel Tunnel surgery 2 months ago and I have a new left hand, I've finally fell in love with the wider neck. I use to prefer wide necks.

Hmmmm.... Do you have an active Model T in your arsenal?

I can't really comment on the neck width as this is the first four string bass I have owned in about 12 years. I really like the 12" fingerboard radius on this neck.

Did you know about the Schecter Michael Anthony Sig ? it's a dolled up Model-T w binding. Jazz style thin neck and loaded with a set of MonsterTone Pickups that are,IMO, the best Passive pickups on the market. I have 2 of them(pictured on the left) and they are awesome. I also have 4 of the old Model-T's and the the SD Hot P/J set's that came in them were not to my liking at all and were replaced very quickly. YEMV

I have 1, the 3 color burst has Seymour Duncan Active APJ-1's. I just recently found and swaped in another 80's vintage APB-1 P with the Active EQ switches, like I have in the dUg Bass. Sounds Great ! I've had EMG's in one of them also. I've been using EMG P's and J's in Basses since the late 80's. I was an Active EMG guy up until about 4 years ago when I got a set of the Passive Geezer EMG;s that are now in my only wide neck Butterscotch Model-T. I've been experimenting a lot with Passives lately. I've come to realize I like Ceramic Magnets over Alnico in my Basses, Passive or Active.

Despite a decent ad campaign, the Stiletto Vintage (in my avatar) didn't appear to break any sales records and is no longer available. It's no longer my #1, but it's hands down the best neck in the house.

They are wicked, once you replace the stock strings. I had to fab pickguards right away. the black is ok for some people I guess. Craftsmanship is unbelievable for the $$.

A past band's guitarist had a Schec, and I wasn't initially impressed with ton- until I realized that the guitarist didn't even sound good through a Sans Amp GT-2 direct in for recording. Talk about an instrument that doesn't gloss over sloppy or just plain bad technique! I really should got over to a local shop (in or around the Orlando area) and check them out (they have/had DeLeo!).

They need to offer the Michael Anthony's in different color and neck options(nut width, P or J). I hear a new Diamond J Plus is coming soon with MonsterTone Pickups ! That's exciting to me.
