The 2019 J-4 basses are on the site now in two colors. Schecter is usually pretty kind to us lefties, but at this time the only new J-4 is in sea foam green.

Wow, Cool !!! There not J-Plus's but, they are coming loaded with those Bad-Ass MonsterTone Pidkups. Must have just put them up in the last day or 2. Why couldn't they have painted the headstocks on the Maple Fretboard necks like the Black w/ Rosewood. Hopefully they will add more colors. I'll be getting a Black one and I'll have a new Red Pearl Pickguard hacked out the day I get it. I'd really prefer a Black w/ Maple neck but that Black w/ Rosewood will do the trick. I've never owned a Jazz Bass of any brand. I've been tempted to order a Squier VM 70's Jazz on the cheap but, I've been holding off waiting on Schecter and MonsterTone's.

The bass arrived nicely setup with medium/high action. After giving it the once over (no finish issues at all) and checking everything, I started tweaking it to my liking.

So, in the end, the neck needed about 1/8 of a turn to be pretty much flat. I've lowered the saddles to my liking as well: 4/64" on the E and 3/64" on the G at the 12th Fret with absolutely no issues. No buzzes. No dead spots. I'll install strings that I like in a few days. I certainly don't want to move too quickly!! Lol. I'll leave the film on the pickguard for a week or so too.

The preamp and pickups sound fantastic. This is my first foray into EMG territory. Dead quiet and a very nicely defined tone. More on all of this later as I still need to check out and adjust the dip switches for the treble control. Vintagey vibe with modern appointments. So far, I'm very pleased.

Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about!! A classic design tweaked out to make it more updated. Love the inlays on the neck. Great looking bass.

I worked with a guitarist years ago that played a Schecter C1 and it was really a really great guitar. I'll be honest in that it wasn't much to look at (red transparent flame maple like so many other guitars of the past decade) but it just played great. Sounded great, too, but if give more credit to the DMZ EJ custom bucker he had in it.
