I’ve been eyeballing Spector’s for a while now. So when I came across this used Legend 5, I stopped looking.

Man it’s in great shape. No scratch’s, no ding’s and the finish is near perfect. It’s pretty much like new. The craftsmanship on these basses are really top notch to.

The spacing is 16.5 which helps provide a nice thin fast neck, and the pups are the SSD’s. I heard some people like the HZ’s a little better but these will rock it.

Check it out……..

I've been eyeing these basses also they look so sleek and ready to play this one is a beauty congrats.
It is SirMjac, its really smooth, its not the high gloss neck (not that high gloss has ever really mattered to me) and the fretwork is pretty much perfect. For a 5 it feels like a 4...... it's a really fast neck

Nice!

I have the exact same bass, except before I got it someone switched out the pre to an Aguilar OBP-2 and changed out the pups to regular EMGs
Yeah, I've read a few things on different pups and pre's.....but for now, I'm going to put some miles on her the way she is. I mean she sounds really good right now.....like really good

I'll keep the changes you mentioned in mind if I ever feel like swapping things out though......Thanks Bob

That sounds like a great idea. I think Spectors and Warricks have a signature sound that's easy to mess up with a switch in electronics. What strings are you using?

I switch back and forth from Hi Beams to Fat Beams......just for the heck of it, I put on a new set of Fat Beams on my Warwick and put Fat Beams on the Spector just see what the difference would be with the same strings. They both have a history of sounding somewhat a like, and they do.....but I'd have to give the growl factor to the Warwick.

I have the same bass, different color. I love mine. I use Blue Steels on it. Only issue Ive had is there is quite a large tonal spread. In order to get the High end to come through on the B and E strings, It makes the D and G string really tinty and too bright. I lowered the pups under the D and G which helped some, but I think Im going to custom order strings for it, use a smaller gauge B and E and a bit thicker gauge D and G. I need to adjust my truss rod, Im assuming its under the plate on the neck, anyone know if its an allen bolt or phillips or slot?

Nice bass. I too was eyeing the Legend 5ers while online shopping recently. I went with a new Ibanez SRSC805 to try my first single cut bass. I do like the colors Legend 5's come in. And so many folks are ready to replace the pups/pres' on alot of these med-priced style basses immediately. I was considering Nordstrands or other brand name pups for my bass before it arrived. I've found the stock pups/pre in this Ibby work very well in this bass already. I did hate the Elixer strings it came with. Put on a new set of Chromes and it's a big, thumping machine now. Huge improvement for me with just a quick string change.

Happy thumping/rocking with that Legend. :bassist:

I like it, congrats. Looks a lot like my old Schecter.

Joy, love, bliss, happiness, tone, feel, look, craftsmanship, pride.... whew.... lost conciousness there for a second. Always wonder about these... need a shallow neck and 19mm spacing cuz of my gimpy neck fingers. Can a high end Spector be achieved like that?
