My new Squier "little bastard". Flawless finish. Perfectly straight neck. Spot on intonation. Somewhat low output but I'll lower the action, change out the god awful nickel rounds for labella jamersons, and raise the pickup so hopefully that'll help. I'll comment on how it sounds and plays once it's all setup and restrung.

Great bass!

Will there be any sound clips?
Or maybe a video?

I could record on my phone but that'll sound awful. If I can find my iRig thingamajig maybe I can put something together on my ipad.

Cool man, how do you like that beastly neck? Or is it smaller than the fender?

Love the black/ maple combo.
The neck isn't nearly as beastly as I expected, which is slightly disappointing. The Squier tele bass has a much chunkier neck. I was kinda hoping it would be just like that but it's fine. I like the color combo too. I woulda liked sunburst and maple better but this is the only color Squier is offering. From the website:
"Available in only one formidable color—Black."

Wow, would be hard to justify buying the Fender version of this. Nice!

I know right? Personally I'm ok with basswood rather than alder for $300 more, which is the only significant difference as far as I know.

Wow. What's with that string spacing?

.
I can't find a ruler/tape measure right now, but it's pretty standard spacing I think. Why, does it look strange?

As for the sound, I like it. Basically it sounds like pbass but ever so slightly muddy, which I like. Not as bright and punchy with the tone up, and not a whole lot of sustain. Not too little sustain, but not a lot which really doesn't bother me. I'd play guitar if I cared about sustain. Definitely not the most versatile bass. I put big fat labella flats on it cuz I generally prefer flats to rounds on any given bass, but I might go with pressurewounds for this one to coax some more life out of it.
