  1. How can this Cheap bass sound (to me) so damn good...
I finally pulled the trigger on one of these after thinking about it for a few years. My VMJ 70`s Jazz sounds great and I thought someday I will pick up a VMP Amber to go along with it. Well last week I found out that the Amber Precision was discontinued so I had to get one PRONTO. One call to Long & McQuade and I found out that they had one left...in all of Canada...in Alberta (I`m on the East Coast). So I put down a deposit..picked it up today. The neck has a satin finish just like my VMJ and there is no way that this bass can sound so good for $275 CDN $$.
I have a MIM Precision with a Quarter Pounder pick up (Alder body) and this little Squier sounds pretty close to the MIM..:bassist: Another thing the wood on the body matches pretty good..Im `impressed

I have one of those I picked up recently, I have been impressed by the output of the Duncan Designed pickup. Mine has a good bit of wear and needed a little TLC when I got it, but it is a player for sure.

  5. Good Day...HNBD?? (thanks!)

  6. There's a kid in one of the Big Bands I direct who has the 70's Jazz version and it's stellar. I played a couple of numbers on it the other week and it plays and sounds just as a Jazz should. Remarkable value for money.

Beautiful bass congrats and it sounds so good because you bought it with your ears and not your eyes.

  9. I have one too (VMP). Sold it to a Swiss guy for $200 including case and bought it back at the same price when he went back home. Guess I'm keeping it.

I have owned 2 of them and foolishly let them go because of the Squire name. I was stipid!!

  11. Yeah,, I did the same thing with my first VM jazz 70's. loved it..traded it for something that (I thought) was better. 2 weeks later I had to sell because of car repairs. Now I have another Squier VMJ 70s and that is going no where.

I just picked up a VMJ last week- It is a great bass to wear around the house! Fit and finish is impressive, to say the least.

It sounds very good too! I'm thinking about picking up a VMP, I really like the Olympic White!!!

I've been on the lookout for one of those bodies. I bought a VM P neck (rosewood) the other week, and think those bodies are gorgeous.

  14. These are bargains! I always wanted to put a geddy neck on one.
