M3 Too ! gets here Saturday. EB group III flats too. Have pots to replace, and copper to shield it. Deciding on pickguard. Will craft brass nut.

Did you ever tell us what color of bass these mods will soon adorn? I looked but didn't see it. Of course, I then visualized all 3 offerings with that bling-tastic pickguard......

Okay I acquired a vintage white pickguard .
@covermego has convinced me I can move the pickups the small amount it takes to make it fit. 😧 drilling holes in this mod will be necessary. Here are a couple pics, I ask you all what you think? I’m on the fence.
As one that deals with indecision.......... well, either one, lol. Just depends what look you want. I do like the "tuxedo" look of the white PG, but I also like the more vintage look of the gold.

You reccomend me to take this bass for put the Labella string (High tension) ?
Thanks u
MAYBE I’ll report back how it behaves when I put EB Group 3’s on. They are LESS tension than the Labella Jamersons.

Best guess, is that the neck will be too weak for the high tension Labella’s likely no stiffening rods, and a thin, fast neck.

So, is this a worth mod platform for the incurable tinkerer?
If you like and play a precision, or have wanted a precision ....... AND are an "incurable tinkerer", then this is a nice budget way to scratch that itch!
Because i have a string the labella i don't use , and i want to put it on a bass
Hey! If you already have the strings, I say go for it! If you're not happy with the result, try some other strings!

The pickguard won’t be here till Monday.
The bass is here, sorry no pics, got it late delivery! Will snap pics tomorrow.

Tested. All works.

**weight 8lbs 3oz! NICE

Strings suck, no surprise
Nut too high, no surprise
Action sky high, no surprise
Only one fret high so far, so good.
Sharp frets from a bit of sprout, addressed.
Installed EB group 3 flats
Neck is still flat.
Intonation was nearly spot on.
Set action.
Laurel fretboard looks nice!
Volume and tone controls work well enough.
Output jack is crap WILL replace, along with pots while upgrading pickguard. Also update the nut to brass I’ll hand cut.

Overall VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!

Installed Dunlop dual design strap lock pins.
Gig in early afternoon tomorrow will take it for a spin. The flats are SUPER bright at the moment.
Testing on my Mac and headphones… sounds like a Pbass should.

All of that sounds typical for this Debut bass. The flat fretboard is fine for anyone who can do the gentle adjustment.

Hope it giggled well. Just got home from playing mine...really liking this bass!
