So there was enough room to just move the pickups down a skosh to get them in “standard” position?
Yessir, with a bit to spare. Installed guard, dropped pickups in place through the guard, marked location by dropping screw in place, tapped screw to dimple the wood ran a pilot hole with drill bit, put foam under the pickups instead of springs.
Ran the screws into the wood.

Yeah I was on the fence, the Darth Vader look, or the Glitter, went with the Glitter.
Easy to change out later when I change my mind, the black was uber cheap 8.00 find.
1) I received my Debut Precision today. The build quality seems good in terms of playabilty. However, I have fret buzz in a few spots. Not sure if it is high frets, saddle height or neck adjustment. I am looking for a good PDF or website, or videos that can walk me through the sequential steps of setup.
2) I plan to put flat wounds on it so I am thinking that I would be starting a setup from ground zero as the tension of the strings will be different. Lets say I put some flatwounds on and cannot get the Debut bass to play right. Can the flats be used on another bass with the same 4 tuning keys on one side configuration?

Ding on back of the bass , it is fine.
Pickup cover broke , just change the pickup with Alnico V.
So, asking $50 partial refund.......
I put LaBella LTF on mine. Yes, you will want to setup from scratch with any new string type change. Mine works great with these strings. Doesn’t seem to stress the neck any. But expect some truss rod adjustment.
