I’m thinking of putting La Bella LTF’s on mine. I have a pair of 5 string flats I tried to like with my 5 string Jazz with 51 Split J Nordstrands it, but took them off and went back to rounds. Will there be too much wrap on the string tuning pegs now when using the E thru G strings since these tuners will be closer to the nut? I could trim the strings but hoping to keep them available if/when I need for a project back on the Jazz?

I don’t recall offhand but knowing me it would be the lightest gauge available. Also I think I bought them at Sweetwater and only one gauge is listed for 5 string LTF which is 42-56-75-100-118
That’s somewhat like my Export Aerodyne - the P pickup is a fair bit closer to the neck than on a regular PJ. I wouldn’t worry about it - if anything, it sounds fuller.
Thanks for the info, the pickups in the stock position for this also land in the same spot as the Standard PJ Special
but there was enough room in the rout
to drop them 1/4” to hit Fender P spec
allowing for use of standard pick guard.
Also enough room in the rout to replace
the mini pots with full size CTS pots.
Allrighty, I received mine yesterday and just now dissected it. Here's some pics. Please comment and ask any questions you may have. I tried to get a lot of different angles, especially with the pickguard screw holes and the pot locations.
Looks like all but 4 pickguard screws line up. Re-drill would be in order. Yep, there's about .003" of clearance for re-mounting the pickup back towards the bridge (nice solid bridge, too!). I installed a 2005 Affinity neck and it JUST fits.....better than the stock neck, but you definitely have zero room, play-wise. The screws do NOT line up, but that's been a thing for many years, what with different manufacturing facilities and such. And I, too, think a single-ply Matte Black pickguard would make this look like a hot rod of yesteryear, lol..... although I do, in fact, really like the cream PG installed, as @C Stone has done.
Finally, I have a problem calling this Matte Dakota Red. Sorry, but it matches my Purple Heirloom

Wow - the matte red with the pearliod pickguard looks amazing. What a nice combo.
Also, mine weighs in at 8lb 12oz. All i can say is the wood is super dense. As an old geezer with structural challenges, it's a bit on the heavy side for me. Nonetheless, it is a true beauty.

They do list the body to be made of poplar, as opposed to basswood as used on the Sonic P.
Mine weighed in at 8.8 lbs. so I think that .8 lb is pretty close to 12 oz. Making ours about the same weight.
Super cool of you to take time to break out the calipers @covermego, yep I had three screws that needed a re-drill down by the input. I agree with @BHaev the aged pearloid pg looks amazing, much better than plain white but matte black

Howdy. actually, I have no plans at the moment of any type of build. The Affinity P Bass neck fitment was just for reference; no plans of permanently attaching it.
Also, no plans with the Jazz-size neck. I'll probably list it either here or Fleabay.
I was hoping it would be closer to 8lbs or less. I have a couple of 32" neck from a Jaguar Affinity, both Laurel and Maple, that I was thinking of installing.... and, of course, scooting the bridge forward. As for this and the heavier weight, I need to mull this over.
I tapped the neck plate on the heel pocket flat and it resonated with a high pitch "clink!". Pretty dense, no doubt.
