NBD - Squier VM Precision - Amber

Finally added a P to my brigade! Yes, this is my first P, although my custom made bass originally started out as a P. This one’s a Squier VM Precision (Amber). It’s wrapped with D’Addario Chromes I believe. The p/up looks like it was changed but I don’t know what it is. New tort pick guard is coming as are new electronics... here’s how she looks

THANKS! I got this one for almost nothing, it's in great condition but I will replace the electronics, knobs and pickguard (tort)!

TORT pick guard has arrived! Found some parts (pots & jack) so rewiring will probably happen on the morrow. Knobs are en route.

Electronics upgraded and new Tort pick guard on, now I'm just waiting on my new knobs to show up (tomorrow?)!

Observations
P/ups are still unknown and electronics were previously changed (it still needed an update although the cap was a good one and is now included in the new wiring. Pick guard needed to be cut/dremeled around p/ups but all worked out!

Mine has a "Duncan Designed" pickup in it, which I think was standard....

Duncan Designed was the OEM p/up, this one was changed along with the electronics. It's quite a nice bass, the 'soft maple' body is definitely a step up from the agathis that's on other models (I own a VM fretless jazz).

Very nice, Tort is a must. Are you fitting flat top knobs? I'd fit a tug bar in the 60s position, just below the lower cutaway. (Despite the maple neck)

Supposed to be 'soft maple.' It has a bit of weight that's similar to ash (which is A-Okay with me).

I was thinking of that but I'm leaving it for now (I do, incidentally, have a tug bar ready to go).
