NBD! Stingray :-)

I've been plaguing lots of you on lots of threads about a new bass - and I did it today! So thanks to everyone for all your help...

New bass is a new USA EBMM Stingray 2EQ black, black pickguard, RW fretboard, and I love it!
I got a great Black Friday deal and it only set me back a little more than a preowned one would have done. Only downside is that I had to trade in my Fender MIM P, but I decided in the end that I'd be fairly unlikely to play it any more.

So what's it like, I hear you cry?
lovely satin neck, plays beautifully, and that tone! it's easily the rudest bass I've ever played.

Great bass; I have one now and it's my main player. I put EBMM Stage III flats on mine.

Black on black, rosewood and a two band EQ, that's an awesome bass, just solid without a single frill you don't need...

Well done - congrats. Remember, the Ray is naturally scooped - the natural sound is great but if you need a bit more mid in any situation, then tweak the low mid or mid a little on your amp ;-)

There is a Stingray club somewhere on Talkbass if you haven't found it yet.

I would say, though, that a Stingray won't really do the P-Bass thing very well, and you may want to get another P down the road sometime.

What a beauty! Elegant looks to go with its rude sound. Looks like you made a terrific choice. Seeing this makes me want to go play my EBMM Sterling. Enjoy playing your 'Ray, hopefully for a long time to come!

Not the Classic - that one has the string mutes on the bridge and a gloss neck. This is the standard EBMM style, with satin-finished neck and no mutes.

I was wondering because I didn't see the mutes. I didn't know they made this model?

iirc this would be the 'base' model - the 2 or 3 band EQ can be ordered in the 'standard' ray package (satin neck, no mutes, modern nut)
