Fender has really figured some things out with their most recent lineup of basses. My favorite bass I own is my American Vintage II precision. It’s such a great bass. So why not get it a cute, sparkly cousin, am I right?
This is a Fender American Professional II 5-string jazz bass in Mystic Surf Green. What’s not to love? Beautiful finish. Tapered satin neck. Rolled fret edges. Super low action. Punchy classic jazz tone. And lightweight!!
I played this same model a couple of years ago and it was fantastic. Sadly, I was right off a shoulder injury and it was too heavy. This particular bass is the only one I’ve ever seen that is under 9lb (8.75lb to be exact). But both of the ones I played have a quality and finish that are on par with basses I have owned that cost 2 or 3 times what I paid for this (think Sadowsky NYC & Lull). I’m extremely impressed!
Take a look.
