I think the newer high-mass vintage bridges are one of the best improvements Fender has done these past few years.

Actually I liked it, too, but the bent plate bridge is a tad lighter and the sound is just as good either way so I went with the bent plate. The newer bent plate bridges at least have grooves for the saddle screws so they don't get all out of line.

10-04. If you've seen my NBD Dimension thread, that situation is one of the only reasons I'd mod a new bass.

Just read it. That's a real situation there. I wasn't crazy about the idea myself, but no way I could live with that stock pickup. The bridge was fine, but the bent plate bridge was cheap so I got it, too.
