Ugh. I've had so many issues with lost items involving the usps I'm hesitant to buy anything anymore that is shipped via their watch.
I've had the best luck with fedex, but you always don't get to choose.
Thanks. No Bass thusfar - yeah its insured, but I still want the bass though this knocks a lot of the joy part out of new bass day turned no bass day. Reverb offers an option to print the label which I always use if I sell something there and tape it on myself. Not sure why the seller didn't use that and just drop the box off. He says it was all packed and ready to go when he went to a Customer Center (not UPS store, staffed by "real" UPS folks). Because he shipped there, the tracking shows UPS CC as the sender and he only has his receipt for shipping and insurance. Since I'm not the shipper UPS only give little information and all info has been flowing from the seller who's been great. He says they're telling him we may possibly get a new tracking number in the next 48 hours. I think I'm done by the end of this week though if nothing happens and will start looking for refund if nothing comes up. That's also the end of their 8 day investigation on Friday. He can fill out the forms and get reimbursed so we'll see. I'll report it as stolen, but he'll need to do the police report so we can try to catch whomever snagged it if it doesn't turn up.So NBD = No Bass Day?
That blows!
Hope they get it all sorted out for you.
UPS, USPS, FedEx. Horror stories, they are everywhere. There are so many variables with ground shipment that Murphy can just walk in anytime/anywhere and throw a monkey wrench.
Whenever I use UPS they make the label for me. However, they put it on the package right in front of me and besides I put the address on the box in big letters. I don't know why anyone would leave UPS without seeing the label on their package.I can’t wrap my brain around dropping off a package without a label firmly affixed to it.

Weird! Right after I posted this, my "lost" tremolo bar shows up. Address sticker, everything on it, no reason for it to be delayed....it was just lost for a while. So looks like it may be late, may take a little longer, but it'll get to you. Hope it's soon for your bass op.I've had numerous basses and other items shipped by UPS with no problems but within the past two weeks, two shipments (a tremolo bar) and some tape reels were lost. Oddly enough, both were being shipped from different sellers in California. I live in Michigan and it looks like the packages were lost somewhere just before it arrrives in Lansing Michigan- I think between one stop and somewhere in Indiana if I remember correctly. Just found it strange both packages were lost in the same place. To date, they haven't located either of them.
Hope you get the bass and it arrives safely.
