Beautiful collection you got there Coke. I’m always back and forth which fretboard woods I prefer so you gotta have several, right? (My LEJ has ebony along with my others with maple and rosewood)

I was mainly curious how the body color white compared with the other two. I agree with many here that white can be all over the place depending on manufacturing time.

The bass with the tort pickguard is Artic White, so it's the whitest bass Fender offers and is whiter than the Olympic White bass.

These are underrated basses. Lots of people only see them with bad setups at GC stores, but setup well these things are super easy to play, and the P pickup is a winner.

So fellow TB member DuluthDank was kind enough to inform me that the black version of the bass was available in the used section of GC's website at a great price. I quickly placed the order and now I am complete. It's a 2011 model so the maple neck has a great aged amber hue to it similar to the Sea Foam Green bass. Tort and pearloid pickguards are on their way for a fun mix 'n match. More pix coming soon!

I’m working toward that with my ESP pj collection. (See my avatar) Have a few to go but love the pj concept.

One of my fav basses is my Warmoth Fretless pj. Black body with unlined maple neck and Wilde pj pups and GHS tape wounds. I rarely solo the j pup on any of my pjs but like using the j to add a little brightness and clarity to the p pickup.

I have several jazz basses but overall I’m a p bass guy. I find pjs kind of hit the perfect spot for me.

Nice bass! You are probably the only person in the world with that complete collection. Is it a 2011? For some reason I was under the impression that these black/tort ones were only made in 2013. What I like about these older ones is that they have an actual Badass II bridge, instead of the Fender high mass ones. It gives it a nice aftermarket look. Also, you said you have pickguards on the the way? Where do they sell them for this model?

I actualy like the regular vintage bridge over a high mass bridge. As for high mass, I do prefer the Badass II because multi-grooved saddles that allow you to align the strings with the pickup pole pieces. The Fender Himass only has one goove on each saddle. Love the ESP PJ collection! They're harder to find because they are discontinued. Are there any mods to them, or are they basically stocked?

Black LTD has Fender ‘62 p pickup and Duncan Vintage jazz pickup. Wilkinson bridge and Fender bridge cover. Tort pickguard. Electro socket jack.Maple fretboard. Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkys.

Candy Apple Red MIJ ESP Vintage 4 has EMG Alnico X set with BTC tone control. Babitz bridge. Flush mount Dunlop strap locks.Rosewood fretboard . DR High Beams.

Sunburst MIJ ESP Vintage 4 has original EMGs. Rosewood fretboard . DR DDT Heavy .50-.115 tuned BEAD.

I’ve become a recent convert to TI Jazz Flats and plan to switch the 3 with rounds to them. I have mostly flats and tapes on my other basses . I intend to leave a couple with rounds .

I plan to add more to the series when I can. There is a rosewood board LTD in black and a Vintage 4 in black in TB classifieds as we speak but other financial obligations prohibit at this time.

I was not aware that they came with stock EMGs. I'm still in the beginning stages of modding each bass to sound a little different from each other. Of course, money is the issue...LOL.

They don’t come with stock EMGs. My answer was in rsponse to your question were they stock or modded.

The LTD s come stock with LTD branded pickups and the Japanese Vintage 4s have Seymour Duncan vintage Hot pjs with passive tone control.

The Tommy Stinson signature models in both LTD and ESP versions do have EMGs standard.

By original I was referring to the original model EMG rather than the various new versions such as the Alnico X. Hope this clarifies.

Nice collection. I dig ‘em. Not enough tort though! The Oly White needs a nice red tort!

A mint pickguard would be nice on there, but it is your bass to do what you want with.

The fender serial number says that it's the regular olympic white with the black pickguard. I can't imagine that the QC on the paint color can deviate so much for such a large company.

The block inlay is a nice added feature, but the side binding make it more special. Plus, the thinner jazz-size neck is the biggest reason to get one of these basses.

Precision body with jazz neck. A real winning combo IMHO. I have the Olympic white MIM with black pick guard and it has become my go to. The best money I have spent on a guitar lately. I did however swap pups for the Yosemite PJ set which I love.

My favorite bass at the moment is the Musician's Friend/Guitar Center's Fender Special Edition Deluxe PJ. You've probably seen the sea foam green version at your local GC. PJ passive configuration with a Geddy Lee neck...perfect. So I have every color they make except for the discontinued black color. I wanted another olympic white version to retrofit with black hardware and downtune.

Boy was I surprised when it was delivered and I opened the box to see the color as buttercream with a white pickguard! I first thought that the bass was old stock and the olympic white has turned yellowed, but the white pickguard tell me that this is not the olympic white version. It's a sexy beast, so I'll keep it anyways. This color is not featured on MF/CG yet, but the neck has a 2019 serial number. I wonder if it's a one-off made by mistake from the Fender View attachment 3665121 Mexican factory.

One of the few Fenders I'd buy.
Duped isn't a word I'd use, that's for sure.
