Have to love a picture heavy post & thread--especially with some greta looking basses, especially the one you got.
Enjoy!

Also, I was mostly interested in the ones with the darkglass preamp
Haha !! I knew it was. Spector. Excellent choice .
I’m glad you let your eyes and ears and hands decide and not the talkbass fable of everyone needs a PBass wit tort and flats!
It’s nice to have a 4 string on addition to your extended range bass. Different tools for different fixes.
Very nice indeed!!Now you have 2 natural beauties . Enjoy![]()
If yer happy with it, that's all that matters. Enjoy.Talkbass!
I got a new bass yesterday!
So you might have read my thread about going to an instrument store to check out some basses for the first time ever, I have never done that before.
You might wanna read my short report here, if you are interested.
MY NEW BASS!!!

Wait, or maybe this one?
View attachment 4348918
Nope.
It's not a Fender. I didn't buy a P bass, but I did try them and I liked them
So, here is the case!
A little bit of story about it.
The guy at the store who was helping me with my purchase was kinda skeptical about the price of the instrument and the fact that according to the store system, it didn't come with any case, gig bag, tools, nothing. So, he went to the back... and got me this old thing.

Let us all take a look at it.

...Yamaha?
What.
"You are telling me that you got a Yamaha bass?" I hear you think!
Wrong!
Boom!

The blue one sounded kinda weak and not as clanky and defined as the yellow one. Maybe it was due to the battery or dead strings or both, in any case for some reason this blue one did not sound nearly as good as the yellow spector.
Also, I was mostly interested in the ones with the darkglass preamp and bartolini split P/J pickups, so I was looking at those.

My bass still on the rack, next to the Spector Legend 6 string. The legends look really nice in person, way better than whatever you can find online, by the way. They are glossy and fancy looking, but I did not want a 6 string this time.

Playing my new friend at the store immediately hit me with that familiar feeling of "the sound in your head" when I think of the bass. She was clanky, punchy, clear, defined and everything about her felt great from the top of the headstock to the very bottom of the body.

Still trying her out!
After this point it was just the matter of trying to find something that felt/played better but I couldn't. Stingrays, Hagströms, Fenders, Sandbergs and even other Spectors couldn't even come close to this specific bass. I do not know what special magic went into making this specific Euro LT but it made it sound extra good, feel very premium and look like an absolute show stealer. It popped out from the rack right away when I saw it and I did not even care about the price. I just took her with me and now she is mine
Thanks for reading!
Have a nice day![]()

As a former owner of one I can say that Spector makes excellent basses. This is the 5 string I used to own/play. It's from the shop in Woodstock, N.Y.. The body is solid flame maple. I played Fender basses for years which is probably why the Ned Steinberger (NS) body never felt comfortable to me. But the bass sounded excellent and was gorgeous. Update!
I got my Spector baggy today!

I went to the store, played some more basses...
And the seller who sold me my Spector came up to me and apologised and explained why I didn't get the bag, I just told him it is more than okay and that I was thankful for helping me get it
He then said to just come up to the desk once I was ready and just tell whoever is there my name and I would get my bag.
So I spent some time in the store, looked around, tried more Fenders, Sandbergs, Höfners. Ibanez, Stingrays etc... and went to grab my bag.
I would really like to thank DLX Music in Stockholm for getting this fixed real quick, it literally took them no time at all to get it sorted - all I had to do is ask them for help and show my receipt. Easy peasy!
I know where I will be going next to check out the gear and if I ever need anything
Thanks everyone!
And a special shoutout to Simon and Gunnar at DLX Music and Jason from Spector
@Rich_Briere
Thanks for the support!
I’m awaiting delivery on the same model/color! The PJ Bartolini's w/DGTC is what attracted me to it, also. Are you still playing yours?Talkbass!

Hey! Of course I am.
It's great and I swapped some things out.
Different pickups (EMG X) and some cosmetic stuff. It's still my number 1 and I think I will keep it for a while!
I have some videos on my bass, if you wanna check it out
