I finally took the plunge, after all these years of playing Squier Precision, MIM Precisions, Ibanez, and a bunch of other basses, I present my 2012 Fender American American Standard Precision 5 string in Candy Cola. I'm thinking what took me so long.. Now I sound like 90% of all recorded bassists. Hehe, This thing has some THUMP!View attachment 4791993
Cool. I've got an American Standard four string from the same year in that exact same color, only with rosewood fingerboard. I slapped a mirror finish pickguard on and tried a set of DiMarzio Model Ps (but may end up putting the stock PUs back in).
Super-solid bass and one of my main players. I'm pretty sure you will enjoy yours...
I have its 4 string sibling, right down to the TI strings. I like my Jazz and Peavey T40 sometimes for a different tone, but when I pick up the American Standard it always feels just right and helps me get the dynamic feel and emotion into the music.
