If there was a BA on there, the current bridge definitely covers any evidence.
So what year is it? Is it worth more than a shell pink 62 Jazz refin?
Well, its not worth more than the shell pink 62' J, but you may have done better than you think, if you purchased this as Highway Series bass ...this number should be well into the 2007-08 run, in fact it would have been made in '08, so I wouldn't think that there is any way that the errant 'spaghetti' logo made its way onto this during the transition ... and as close as I can look at that headstock, it certainly does not look like a re-logo, and there would be no reason to ...
...so the only other explanation would be that this is a 2008 American Standard Series neck, on a Highway 1 or ONE Series body ... and probably the only way to know for sure which series, would be to pull the neck and check the date stamp in the neck pocket, or look in the control cavity and see if by chance an identification sticker is there ... and the only reason is even important, would be to answer your original question, of whether or not the body is nitro ... if it is a Hwy 1 Series body ('03-05), no, it would be lacquer ... if it is a Hwy ONE Series body ('06+) it would be the nitrocellulose lacquer ... with the possible lack of evidence of ever having a BAII installed, as Greg pointed out, I would be inclined to think it is a 1st generation Hwy 1 Series, but then again, it is possible to pull the BA and not have an impression, just less likely ... in any case, this is definitely a Hwy Series Honey Blonde finish ...
... back to the neck, if this is an American Standard neck, it would have came stock, with the lightweight Hipshot tuners, vs the open style stock tuners used on both Highway Series ... so, which tuners are on this? and if you aren't sure, maybe post a pic of back of headstock?
... in any case, it is certainly a looker, and the way you describe it, it does sound like a player as well ..
