NCAA Basketball - 2011

The Butler/Florida game was what I wanted, some really great college basketball. Just a bummer it didn't turn out how I wanted. I still enjoyed all 45 minutes.
But hey, I had Florida losing this game in our bracket challenge, so I got that part right.

The VCU game was great. So was the Kentucky game. I'm so proud of Harrellson - he was a bench warmer last year, and after a lot of hard work is anchoring a final four team this year. Looks like he's enjoying it, too.

Mike is the winner of the TB challenge.
Kentucky and UNC was a good game, Kentucky took the Heels our of their game and they also shot the ball pretty well. I knew the Heels had one more run left in them, but it was not enough. The better team won. If the next 3 games are as exciting as this weekend's games, I'll be happy regardless of the outcome.
Now, I won't have to root against my daughters school. Kentucky and UConn should be a great game. I didn't see much of either of the two upsets, but at this point Butler and VCA have beaten enough quality opponents that it is easy to believe that Butler or VCU could take the whole thing.
Just to put the jinx on Kentucky, the updated 538.com projections have them beating Butler in the finals.

While it was very cool to see VCU beat Kansas....my office bracket had Kansas taking it all. There goes my 20 bucks.

I'm really happy VCU won again. Not just for the previous reasons I stated about the Billy D. connection, etc., but because they beat a cocky, trash-talking Kansas team. I hope the Morris brother who talked smack right before tipoff is the same one who was crying after they lost. I see that after the game, he still didn't give VCU much credit.
Wow, I did? I don't believe I have ever won one of these as I always pick with my heart and other dumb reasons.

Even though we didn't have a lot of official entries, the competition was pretty strong (3 of us outperformed the Tournament Selection Committee and 6 out of 8 are in the top 50% on ESPN's site).
Mike is too modest to note that his bracket is currently ranked just outside of the top 5% on the ESPN site. And since he still has UConn for two more games, he'll move up with each UConn win.
Excellent job, no matter what method (or lack thereof
) you used.

I'll go with UConn over Butler at this point. UConn is the only team I have any connection to and it is the only one I have alive in another pool that no matter what they do I'll end up in the middle of the pack.
There are three players from the Massachusetts: Oriakhi from Lowell, Coombs-McDaniel from the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston and Napier from Randolph. All are in the 7-man rotation, and in order for UConn to win, they will have to play well in case Kentucky figures out a way to shut down Walker.

How in the thunder do you feel connected to UK? Because UK plays in the SEC and you hate UF that also plays in the SEC?
