I'm doing some fret work on a bass & found out, along the way, that the preamp is shot. Rather than purchase a new preamp & try to install it, I want to wire the bass passive. I have 5 knob holes to work with. This bass has some dual coil Bartolini soapbars in it. As you wear the bass & look down, you have a row of three holes on top & two below. One idea I had was, in the top three, to do a simple vol,vol, tone. With the bottom two, I've considered 2 on/on switches asigned to each pickup to switch between series & single coil. Can anyone send me a clear diagram for this specific setup.
Top row: vol,vol,tone
Bottom row: neck (ser./sing.coil), bridge (ser./ sing. coil)

I'll draw you a diagram this afternoon.

You can use a DPDT On/On/On switch for Series/Single/Parallel or a DPDT On/Off/On switch for North Coil/Series/South Coil btw.

I like the North/ South coil idea.
Anything you can send would be helpful. I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to really understanding/ executing this stuff... even things like which wire goes to which terminal on the pots...I've done a few jazz bass re-wiring's/ replaced a few jacks.....nothing quite as extensive as this, though.

This is actually a totally simple scheme.
All you are doing is adding two switches to standard Jazz bass wiring.
