Need help! Octave|Overdrive|Compressor

This is all based on my opinion as a pedal freak and having tried TONS of stuff:

The OctaBass is probably the single best tracking octaver made so far. And, made in Sweden, so perhaps it may save you some money? It doesn't have the grittiness of the Boss OC pedal series which is a sound some people prefer (me included), but it's built like a brick and again, the tracking is amazing. And it is pricey over here in the states, so if you can save money by going native.. hell, get me one and I'll pay you back!

I use a Tech21 NYC Bass XXL for overdrive & distortion right now, but I hear the Pigtronix DisNortion is absolutely amazing for both as well. The EBS Multidrive is really about overdrive and not distortion, but it does overdrive pretty well. For the money, you can get something more interesting for less.

The EBS MultiComp is my favorite pedal compressor yet. I think the Demeter is also pretty great, but the Multicomp gives you a little more control and some tonal options. You can really find a sweet spot and it's a very graceful, warm, natural compression. And again, if you can get it less there, do it!

Have a safe trip and I hope this helps a little. Feel free to ask me any follow ups.

In that case, no. I can't make any recommendations without knowing a LOT more about what you're looking for, what kind of music you play, what you've tried before, etc. Particularly with overdrive, there are hundreds of different flavors available, and what is prefect for one person may be crap for someone else. Do some searching in this forum and listen to as many sound clips as you can, and it may help you narrow down your preferences.
