Any opinions about this bass? Available for under $100.

Don't know anything about it...but why not get a SX Link Removed with a warranty?

I would say if your able to try it out before purchase then do so and let your ears be your guide. I have seen Johnson basses in the past but I never tried. I don't know your actual budget but this bass Link Removed would be a great bass for you and a little more versatile since it has a jazz pickup at the bridge, I hope this helps some I am not trying to steer you away from the Johnson, just offer you an option.
