Need some new headphones. Which ones?

I have used the Sony MDR-V600, MDR-V6 and 7506 headphones for 30 years. They are extremely comfortable, last very well, fold up for reasonably compact storage, and the sound is excellent. I find them to have a very slight low end emphasis, which as a bass player, appeals to me.
I have used the Sonys for audio and video production both in the studio and field, and they are the standard in our operation for all high-quality headphone applications. They come with a removable 1/4" plug which unscrews to reveal a 1/8" plug.
One bit of advice: do NOT wrap a coiled headphone cord around the headphones! You will screw up the cord and create tangles. Just fold up the phones, drop the cord into the carry bag and put the headphones in on top of them.

In this thread I'm seeing idk maybe 3-4 seemingly popular choices.
Prices ranging from $60+ - $150+
I personally think spending $100+ on a set of headphones is insane. Keep in mind though, that is simply because up until yesterday I really thought headphones were headphones with maybe some slight sound quality differences at best. Lately I've been in the market for a decent set, I've tried numerous cheapie type sets and each and every pair was immediately repackaged
And returned to the store. I then caved in and splurged on a set of these really pricey Skull Candy sets. Lol some of the junk sets I picked up from Bottom Dollar were honestly just as good for $10 bucks. Needless to say they went right back.
So then I thought TB these geniuses MUST know where to get a good set that actually sounds really good, and here I am.
But now I'm torn, and see there's several popular brands and each seems to have decent reviews.
My question is. -----Is there a big enough difference between a $65 dollar set of Sony MDR whatever's, and the $150 set of (?) mentioned earlier in the thread?
I want them to sound just as good as w/o or at least as close as I can get. What I don't want is to buy these only to find that I cringe when having to use them, because of course if it were up to me, I'd have my amp cranked full blast all night, unfortunately my family seems to have some trouble sleeping if I do that.
So I'm hoping there's a set of headphones out there that are still a pleasure to play through, or are my expectations too high here?

This! I bought my V6 in 1992 and I still have to find a set that would unseat it as my go to head gear. It's only drawback is its crappy earpads which disintegrate over time (mine fell apart after two years). No biggie as you could get velour replacement pads from breyerdynamic (sp?) for around $20 or less and you'll be good to go. I use that puppy in the studio and on the go and it can take the abuse. I plan to get the 7506 to keep in the studio and plan to replace the pads with the velour ones from the get go. I'd definitely recommend this.

i just got my Audio Technica ATH -M50's yesterday, and so far i am very impressed with their sound and quality. The M30s should be a nice set of cans if you decide to get those, too.

No. Not that my old ears can detect, anyway. Even if you have golden, non-damaged ears it's probably not enough of a difference to pay the extra money. That's my opinion. Diminishing marginal returns and all that.
And, just to be clear here-- you're not going to be able to blast your fing eardrums off with these playing your bass into it. There are going to be volume limits when pumping a bass guitar into it without any compression, EQ, etc. that you have on your favorite album. But you'll be able to pump your favorite tunes into it and play along. You'll be able to mess with your pedal board to determine what settings are working and which aren't. Basically, it allows you to have silent practice. The whole reason I bought the headphones, in my case.
