The peavey sounded the best
The best set up, playing and sounding bass (imo) in my GC right now is a Yamaha 170J. Under $200. Could very well be a fluke. Or not.
You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but IME it isn't true - I tried a Fender pup, and now have EMG's in my Fury, FWIW... I have never denied that the Fury has excellent fretwork - but the neck finish is pretty crude, as is the body finish...
