New Aguilar AG 700! Coming April 2017.

Still have my AG500SC - don't use it anymore, although it sounded fine when I did. If it had come out before the D-800(+), I might have been tempted, but by then I had already bought the M6 and that started me down a path...

About a month ago I emailed Aguilar requesting an 800 or 1000 watt Tone Hammer. They responded to the effect that there were no plans to release a higher powered Tone Hammer at this time but to keep my eyes open for other exciting product announcements. I guess this is it. I will have to try one! If they reissue the 2 - channel version that will be even better.

Very underwhelming IMO.

It'll probably please the die hard Aguilar fans looking for a cleaner sounding and more powerful TH500. But at a street price of 849$, as stated by Premier Guitar, the Subway D-800 and the new Trickfish Bullhead .5K are more appealing.

The AG500 is one of my favorite amps. I had a TH500 as well and preferred the AG500 greatly over the TH.

This new one is only 4 pounds.

I like the second channel on my AG bc even if you back off the gain on the dirt channel, the tone is different from the clean channel - its like having two amps.

I can definitely see them coming out with a dual channel AG700. Funny thing though - not a huge difference between 500 watts and 700 watts, volume wise. Not complaining, and understand they wanted to set the AG up-market from the TH line, hence the higher wattage.

I've either sold or stored all my other amps - only playing my AG500 these days. Great tone every time I plug in.
