New Amp/Cab Decision! Help requested

I’m exploring options of trading my Ampeg Micro VR for something louder and more gig worthy. I have an opportunity to trade for one of the following options:

Option 1. Ampeg SVT350 and 410hlf cab. The cab has four new Heritage USA speakers in it. So it’s essentially an SVT Heritage 410, 500 watts, 4 ohms. The head needs a new power transformer. About $150 give or take for the part and should be an easy repair.

Option 2. Line 6 LD400 head with two Hartke 410 Transient Attack-Transporter cabs. Each are 200watts (I think) at 8 ohms. Obviously more watts at 4 ohms when paired. All in working condition.

Lol yes. These are the options available to me at the moment.

I'd go with the Ampeg

Also, pull a driver from the cab, make sure it's the one's that were advertised as being in the cabinet.

He did show me photo evidence of the speakers inside the cab. So I at least know that’s accurate. Good point about the head. Could very likely be more than one issue. Thanks!

Option 1 reads to my eye:
An old Ampeg rig that has been used and abused. The cab was driven so hard, the speakers had to be replaced. During that incident the power transformer also jumped the fence.

I’m leaning towards staying away from the head. My buddy has a Hartke HA3500 that I could use for awhile. I’m not as hesitant about the cab since he did send me a video of it fully operating. What do you think?

I think that we should just take a minute to appreciate and acknowledge someone doing their part to make sure that this expression is used properly.

Also one of the best moments on “Billions” came about as a result of that expression.

definitely take the Ampeg cab. I'd hold out for a head. SVT350s go for cheap. Same with B2Rs or B2REs.

Is neither an option?

You should probably figure out a budget for how much you want to spend, and/or what sort of monthly payments you’d be willing to make. Then, based on your style of music, start looking at the various choices.

Frankly, there are a lot of satisfied Mesa/Boogie users on here - if you can make the numbers work, that’s not a bad choice.

I actually was considering some of the Ampeg class D stuff when I bought my Mesa, but was turned off by the numerous complaints regarding quality that I saw online.

I love the sound of Ampeg and one of my cabs is the 410HLF and it sounds sooooo good. I've heard the PF stuff sounds good, but if I could, I just buy the cab and find a different head that doesn't already have problems.
