New ampeg speculation - A true B15 Reissue?

Looks like the casters pop out like they do on the B-100R.

But look at the grill - it actually has a black diamond strip at the top where the logo is, and one also at the bottom which creates the "illusion" that the bottom shell of the cab is a dolly board.

Cool, I didn't see that angle. It would be really nice if the casters are removable. I just can't believe they are at this price point

it's insane to think there's not a demand for more tube b-15's. these 50 heritages will be gone in no time. and if they do a second run, they'll be gone in no time, too. people still love the real deal stuff and those who can afford it will buy it.

having said that, seeing as how the micro vr is so good at copping the proper tones, i believe these new heads and cabs will do very well, too. i'm no tube snob. ok, i am a little, but it's really hard to argue with the results you can get with the little stuff.

Yeah, I can't imagine there aren't 50 bass players in this country alone that have the money available, and know about this B15 RI won't buy it. Ampeg could probably get away with a 5,000 unit run, if they wanted to. I expect those original 50 units to last no more than a week, if even that.

One of the things that I find interesting when I gig out with my '63 B15, is that people seem to be fascinated with the cosmetics of the amp, and the fact that it's a "fliptop". People always comment how "cool it is" when they watch me unlatch the lid and get the head out while setting up at shows. Such a simple concept - whether for a tube head or class D micro - I think will continue to add to the "mystique" of the Portaflex line and really help differentiate it from other amps. (Except possibly Ashdown's dropheads ;) )
