+1, that's a pretty nice price. It's also pretty nice that you can mix and match the heads/cabs. So if the smaller head is 350 watts @ 4 ohms, that would make it roughly 175 (give or take) at 8 ohms, right? Man, that and the 15" cab would be pretty nice for both my current gigs.......

Yeah, avoiding G.A.S. isn't working. :rollno:

5sg.

The new class-d porta-flex looks like a smart move by Ampeg
Features are good, and Pricing is competitive,
These will be a big seller, they should make some good profit, and maybe finally break the Ampeg is only good for tube mold. Used with the same cabinet as any SVT they'll have a little tiny amp that blows their big heavy SVT off the stage. I think they're smart enough to build in "tube tone" that people expect from Ampeg.

I can only hope they used plywood for the cabinet - but the weight hints at MDF.

Now to wonder how these will compare in tone to the B50r, B100r, and B200r. (For modern solid state portaflexes)

Also ehh about them selling separate. I understand from their standpoint why it makes sense but I wouldnt mind saving a Benjamin or two by selling them together.

seriously. it's very nice to hear that you're excited, but i haven't met a class d micro amp yet that 'blows an all tube SVT off the stage'.

Those cabs look great! Hard to argue with the weight or price, either! I wish Ampeg had gone with a tweeter-less design, though.
