New ampeg speculation - A true B15 Reissue?

wow, sounds great through a 57 no less! yep, that's a b-15. kind of surprised they didn't get an re-20 for that demo, though. you'd think they'd want to record it as well as possible.

Yeah, you should hear it when you jump the channels and drive the hell out of it....sweet. We are getting busy close to NAMM, but I will see if we can get a clip like that. Wasn't sure how many people were into hearing it with everything dimed.

use a better mic too, ryan. nobody likes the 57 on bass cabs more than me, but they do need a di to get the lows onto tape. if you could get your hands on an re 20, heil pr 40, or sennheiser 421, that would be the ticket. a dimed demo would be very cool, but for me it's all about that in-between clean and dirty sound like you guys had, and it definitely sounds like a b-15 to me. dino played very well, too ;)

so it looks like at least one of the hybrids is class d. that's cool...the micro vr was a pleasant little surprise, so maybe that'll cop the vibe of the b-15, too.

"You know those “mystery amps” that were covered up in the Heritage B-15 photo? Well, we can tell you a couple of things. They are certainly vintage-inspired, but with higher power ratings and more modern features. "

Just came across this post by George (the guy building these) over at the MetroAmp.com forum. Some interesting info:

I just seen a post on Talk Bass questioning if the amp is truly "Made in USA".

I can confirm the items that I personally contributed:

transformers and choke made in Michigan

chassis and tube cages made in Florida

component boards made here in my shop

component boards loaded here in house

signal capacitors made in USA

everything on the chassis is attached here in house

all sub-assembly work is done here in house

We are taking all the raw parts, starting with the chassis, and assembling from scratch. These are 100% Made in USA amps.

George

Has an official price been announced yet? I thought the numbers thrown around were still speculation at this point.
they are. it's seamonkey's day to troll the tube amp threads.

but let's assume he's correct. what justifies the price jump? hey, this ain't a freaking assembly line amp, dude. this is a handmade b-15, the holy grail of bass amps. if you're only concerned about price, go get a behringer pos.
