Yeah I am all for paying extra money so that dudes can kick in my speakers on accident because the cloth cover does approximately nothing to stop a steel toed boot.

I contacted dave at avatar about getting cloth grille covers for my existing Avatar cabinets. He replied that it would be no problem to do and they could send two covers together in one package.

So I'm taking that as meaning they work on existing cabs with metal grille covers.

I sent him an email last Friday and he said that they would not retro fit, and that if I was handy I could do it myself.

I kind of felt like that was a jerk response.

Avatar just joined the lineup for my new cabs... two 2x12's, and I think they'll win if I can get the dough.

They look so killer, I can't believe it.

I think they're ugly as heck, but if it allows the profit margin to be great enough, I 'spose it will help keep the price of the also ugly carpeted steel grill versions to remain the same for awhile. I contemplated getting the linex coating on my next cabs, but for the price they charge for it, I'll probably wait until my cat claws most of the carpeting off and coat them with bedliner.
