I agree with you on the Glock head Ken. Although I may have been influenced by your comment ( ), I do think it has sweeter and smoother sounding higs and high mids and a very nice big and controlled low end.

I love the TH500, and gig with that most of the time. But man, that Glock is something. A bit too clean to work with the P Bass for me, but with a modern bass or even a traditional J bass, whew. Slams down low, and so clean and 'accurate' up top. 11 pounds of 'bliss in a bag'!

It was a bit 'too much of a good thing' with the wider, smoother, crisper AE212 (sounded beautiful, but a bit too hi fi for my J Bass IMO), but with the more grunty, punchy voicing of the CN212 (along with the additional upper midrange presence of that cab), it really works well! The CN really takes the low end well also.... it handles it easily.

Well, you can tell it is a rainy, cold day in Sheboygan, and that I don't have an active project starting until Thursday. So, clip time again.

I don't like to post clips of gear that is no longer on the market, but I've gotten quite a few emails requesting comparison of the both the AE212 and the Thunderchild cabs. So, here is a direct comparison of the CN212, the AE212 and the Thunderchild115 (which sounds very close to the current TC212 and the smaller TC112... very nice 'scaling' done by Duke in these designs). The head is the Glockenklang Blue Soul, set reasonable neutral with just a bit of bass and low mid boost (less than 3db). Bass is Alleva-Coppolo with broken in Hi Beams, active, with a smidge of bass boost.

Hopefully, if you have good phones, you can hear the wide tonal footprint of the AE212, with the nice bright top end; then the very smooth, low end extended, relaxed Thunderchild voicing, and finally,the more midrange, grunty voicing of the CN212 (to my ear, anyway). All wonderful cabs, that sound quite different (and even more different on the gig as you push them).

Cabs all sound very good to me (which is I guess why I own them!).

For the CN112, good with the Puma 900. The taste knob can thin out the low mids a bit if you want that, and upper mids can add some cut/edge.
