New board: which pedal order?

Comp first. The sub bass from the mxr will trigger the comp downstream with lots of unplanned gain reduction. I would only pit a limiter downstream of the synth.

Both signal chains make sense for different purposes. But on my board with the MXR synth, I prefer using the compressor after the synth unit to tame potential peaks. So that is what my vote is for. But, again, both orders are good actually...

I also do that, my SA Atlas is at the end of the pedalboard just before the DI. I've got tons 2 octavers, 2 gated fuzzes, LPF/enveloppe filters, I've got a Spectracomp still at the beginning of my synth loop (octavers --> fuzzes --> bitccrushers--> LPFs) but with a really soft toneprint setup, it's just to help my FT Elletronica Tetractave cut thru the mix so I only use it paired with the Tetractave. I've got a booster to start everything, I've been doing the comp before everything stuff for ages, then I tried something else influenced by Janek Gwizdala youtube videos, and indeed just a booster to start is enough. The comp at the end cleans everything, that's for sure.

I am assuming that you won't run the Seamoon and the MXR at the same time and their order is therefore irrelevant.

Comp before will get you a more even response, which can be great or terrible, depending on how you're working with envelope filters.
Comp after will be able to catch synthy spikes and makes sure your full playing dynamics hit the mxr, making the envelope follow your play style.

I personally have my comp as late in the chain as possible and therefore voted B.

I like comp close to the bass personally, especially going into an octave, but that's just me.

IME the compressor should go before the octave, fuzz, etc. I've tried it all different ways, the octave likes to have a fat, consistent signal to track so the compressor comes before it.

Agreed. This is the same experience I've had and for now Ive settled on B (Compressor at the end just before the Preamp).

Right, generally speaking I'd use the Octaver and the Bass Synth independently. But interestingly enough, I've been using the octaver (with very tame settings) as a perceived boost to the Bass Synth in the chorus of a song and it works nicely. I then just have to remember to return the octaver to previous settings for a separate song.
